1. Pain Management

Mild to moderate discomfort is expected. Most patients manage this well with prescribed medications or over-the-counter pain relief. Consistent pain control helps enhance comfort and satisfaction during recovery.
Tip: Ice packs may be applied intermittently (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) for the first 24 hours to reduce swelling.

2. Wound Care

• Keep the surgical area clean and dry.
  
  
  
• Apply the prescribed antibiotic ointment twice daily to prevent infection and support healing.
  
  
  
• Do not remove the dressing until your first follow-up appointment unless instructed otherwise.
  
  
  
• When using the restroom, cleanse gently with unscented soft wipes, and pat dry—do not rub.
  
  
  

3. Hygiene

• Gently cleanse the area with mild soap and lukewarm water once daily after the first 48 hours.
  
  
• Avoid soaking in bathtubs, hot tubs, or swimming pools for at least 4 weeks.
  
  
• Use sanitary pads only; do not use tampons during the recovery period.
  
  
  

4. Activity Restrictions

• Avoid any strenuous activity, exercise, heavy lifting, or sexual intercourse for 4–6 weeks post-operatively.
  
  
• Minimize walking during the first few days and avoid prolonged sitting.
  
  
• Elevate your pelvis slightly while lying down to reduce swelling.
  
  
  

5. Follow-Up AppointmentsPlease attend all scheduled follow-ups so we may monitor your healing. While some suture materials dissolve naturally, evaluation of the area is essential to ensure proper recovery.

6. When to Call the OfficeContact us immediately if you notice:

• Excessive or worsening swelling
  
  
• Redness or warmth around the incision
  
  
• Drainage or foul-smelling discharge
  
  
• Fever or chills
  
  
• Unusual pain not relieved with medication
  
  
• Opening of the incision (wound dehiscence)
  
  
• Heavy bleeding
